Chiapas is beautiful. We visited Sumidero Canyon, las Cascadas el Chiflón, las Lagunas de Montebello, and more.
(on technical note, I've started using iMovie'08 instead of Final Cut Pro for these videos. I still haven't finished editing our summer vacation from 2006 in FCP. I'm hoping the simplicity of iMovie (limited options) continues to speed up the process and get through all this tape…)

Gorgeous footage. That is what I call a vacation.
I just read a tweet from a guy at a VON conference who says blip.tv‘s Mike Hudack asked an Apple rep to open up the iMovie upload API. That’d be rad!
Geeky question: did you shoot and edit in HD? What is the export format that you upload to blip.tv?
Yeah, it’s HDV. I imported at full size (although I was tempted by iMovie’s nifty half-size import option) because I want to output it on DVD for family archives. Here’s the screenshot of the export options (I picked “medium” 640×360 which it suggests is for iPod, appleTV, computer, .mac, or YouTube).
